The bridge of Shahrestan is one of the oldest monuments remained from ancient date of Isfahan. According to some historical resources, the main foundations are belonged to Sassanid period.
This bridge which has been located in one of the oldest neighborhoods of ancient era called “Gei” “Jei” and Shahrestan. The upper parts of this bridge include annexations which dated back to Dialams and Seljuk periods, then from Safavid era till now basic reparations have been done upon this bridge.
The bridges of Shoshtar and Dezful which both belonged to Sassanid era are comparable with this bridge from the point view of architectural structures.
